Thunderbird swim and Dive will be holding it’s 2014 awards night on Wednesday, November 12th in the cafeteria at 5:30.  The program should run between an hour and an hour and a half.  Light appetizers will be served.

The vans leave school at 6:45, warm-up starts at 8:30 and the meet starts at 9:30.

We’d love for parents to attend the competition.  Please be aware that there is an entrance fee and that coolers are not allowed on deck for spectators.

All team members are invited to a team pasta part at the Maloney household (1614 W Evans Drive Phoenix AZ 85023) at 6:00pm.  If you get dropped off, don’t expect to stay much past 8!

The bus for District Championships leaves at 7:15 both Friday, October 31st and Saturday, November 1st.

Team night with Barros Pizza (7th St. & Coral Gables Dr.) was a great success.  Everyone had a great time and Barros was generous in their donation.  It went so well we’re going to do it again.

Please visit Barros Pizza after our home meet on October 2nd.  Tell them you are with Thunderbird Swim and Dive and a percentage of the sale will go to the team.  This is for dine in and carryout.

Don’t forget, if you are entered in the PCDS Eagle Invitational on Saturday, 9/27, the bus leaves early from school at 6:30 so we can be there for 7:30 warm up.  The meet starts at 9:00 am and should run (according to the meet manager timeline) to approximately 1:30.

Come prepared with appropriate clothing, food and water.

Spectator costs are $3 a person.

If you have not heard the word on deck, there is no practice on Friday, 9/26.  Between the divers attending the diving portion of the PCDS Eagle Invitational and required staff workshops, we will be short on staff.  Enjoy your day off.

The meet that had been moved to 9/29 has been moved again.  Thunderbird will visit Paradise Valley on Tuesday, 10/14 Monday, 10/13 and there will be practice at the normal time on Monday 9/29.

Following our first meet of the season at Moon Valley Country Club on Tuesday, September 2nd, please go to Barro’s pizza at 7th street and Gleneagles and enjoy some food.  If you tell your cashier that you are with Thunderbird swim and dive, the team will receive 20% of your order back as a donation.

The event is good all day but only works if you let them know that Thunderbird swim and dive sent you.
